My name is Ogundipe Bosede. I recently applied for the iCHORDS 2025-2026 Mentorship program. I hold a PhD in Medical Sociology. I exited my country’s civil service recently after 35 years of meritorious service as a Public Health practitioner.
I worked in Neglected Tropical Diseases program close to 14 years and served as NTDs Coordinator/ Director for 6 years in my country. I am presently self employed and also preparing a survey work on NTDS Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention – Case series.
Kindly permit me to ask a few questions on mentoring:
1. What are your expectations from a good mentee?
2. Kindly share your personal experience with me during the process of mentoring a mentee?
3. What does it entails to be a good mentor?
4. Having served as a mentor twice, what are your recommendations for both mentors and mentees?
5. Kindly enlighten me on what makes mentoring challenging?
6. What were the challenges you faced personally as a mentor and how did you overcome them?
Many thanks for your kind response and anticipated cooperation.
