Alison Krentel

Alison Krentel is an Associate Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa, a senior scientist at Bruyère Health Research Institute, and a member of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Knowledge Translation and Health Technology Assessment in Health Equity. She holds a PhD and MSc from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Alison’s research uses an implementation research lens to understand and improve the equity and effectiveness of public health programmes used to control and eliminate neglected tropical diseases. She is interested in identifying ways to improve community ownership in public health programmes, to understand patterns of non-participation and to design interventions that improve the acceptability and uptake of new and existing interventions. She also plays an active role in advocacy for greater awareness about NTDs in Canada through the Canadian Network for NTDs.
