Dr Trueba is interested in the complex relationship between poverty, health and development, with a focus on using grounded research to inform health policy and practice. Much of her work concentrates on the elimination of NTDs through action on the Social Determinants of Health. Having a background on socio-cultural anthropology, community health and development studies, Mei has conducted research on various NTDs, including a qualitative evaluation of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis control in Guatemala in partnership with the PAHO and the Guatemalan Ministry of Health.
