Technical Director of Sightsavers’ neglected tropical disease (NTD) department, with over 20 years of experience working iin global health and infectious diseases. Philip Downs leads a team of technical experts that support global partners and Ministries of Health in the promotion and implementation of WHO guidelines and best practices on the control and elimination of trachoma, onchocerciasis (river blindness), lymphatic filariasis, schistosomiasis, and soil-transmitted helminthiases. Received doctoral degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Master from Emory University.
