About:

Shahreen is a research assistant at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. She currently works within the COUNTDOWN consortium on implementation research to support the development of more inclusive health systems in Nigeria and Liberia. Shahreen uses qualitative and participatory research methods to develop community level inclusion programmes on neglected tropical diseases, which result in lifelong morbidity and disability. Prior to this, Shahreen has worked with local and international NGOs on maternal health and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) in low and middle-income countries; her areas of interest include disability inclusion, equity, gender and strengthening health systems.
